  Notes	The enhanced BMD index doesn't show a mother's maiden name. However it's clear that Emma's mother was Hannah SMITH, who married Robert TUNBRIDGE in Q1 1855. The marriage record at ancestry.com, taken from the Essex CofE Parish Registers, shows Emma's father's name as Tunbridge Smith. It's open to question whether Robert TUNBRIDGE was Emma's father. 1861 census: in Upper Stoneham Street, Great Coggeshall, Essex, Hannah TUNBRIDGE (head, widow, 30, silk winder, born Great Coggeshall) and Emma SMITH (daughter, 9, scholar, born Great Coggeshall). Also a boarder Samuel SPINKS (single, 40, silk weaver). 1871 census: at 49 Tilkey Road, Great Coggeshall, Essex, George A DAVIS (head, married, 23, gardener, born Great Coggeshall) and J---ah DAVIS (wife, 26, tambour worker, born Great Coggeshall). Also Emma W SMITH (niece, 19, silk drawer, born Great Coggeshall).
