In 1851 a Martha Lygett (sic) aged 33, born Benhall, worked as a lady's maid at Marlesford Hall and in 1841 a Martha Leggett aged 20, was a female servant at Marlesford Hall. When she died in 1906 Martha's age was said to 90. Although no trace of Martha's birth has been found on the IGI, her birth year was probably about 1816.
