  Notes	August 2006: John Minter of Preston provided the following information given by a contact he made on Genes Reunited. "We must refer to a John Henry Mckenna (born Phillips) 1882 - 1943*. The family name was changed in 1914. John Henry married Elizabeth Chitty (known as Kate) in 1903. Elizabeth's dates are 1882 - 1918. When she died in 1918, John Henry Mckenna re-married - to Edith Alice Minter - in 1919. John Henry's son Frederick Mckenna - 1911-1991, would, therefore, remember Edith Alice as his mother for most of his life. Frederick Mckenna married Lily Ward in 1945, and one of their children is my [Genes Reunited contact] born in 1955." * this cannot be correct - Edith was a widow in 1939 per the Register, see below. 1911 census: at No. 4 Box Cottages, Upper Hale, Farnham Surrey (2 rooms) (all PHILLIPS), John (head, 29, labourer, born Guildford, Surrey), Kate (wife, 29, married 7 years, 2 children, 1 living, 1 dead, born Farnham, Surrey) and Albert James (son, 1, born Upper Hale, Farnham). 1939 Register: at 2 Box Cottage Hope Lane, Farnham U.D., Surrey McKENNA, Edith A born 17 Feb 1884, widow, unpaid domestic duties McKENNA, Frederick G born 24 Sep 1912 [actually born 1911], single, builder's labourer McKENNA, John H born 19 May 1921, single, builder's carpenter
