  Notes	At the time of his death Chester was comptroller for the Washington Redskins. He was responsible for signing payroll checks in the 1970s. Two such checks came up for auction in 2013: George Allen dated “MAR 21 1975,” the voucher is made out to the Hall of Fame head coach in the amount of $1,892.36 and is signed by Redskins Comptroller Chester Minter. The check is endorsed on the reverse, likely by Allen’s wife or secretary. John Riggins dated “SEP 17 1976,” the check was made out to Riggins just five days after playing his first game with the team. The check is for $7,933.37 and is signed by team Comptroller Chester Minter. It is endorsed on the reverse, likely by Riggins’ wife or secretary."
