The passenger list gives the following detail: James Samuel, farmer, 52 Louisa Caroline, wife, 48 Harriet, domestic, 21 Frederick John, potter, 19 Lilian Gertrude, domestic, 16 Albert Edwin, labourer, 14 Florence Emily, child, 11 Ellen, child, 9 Alice Isabella, child, 7 Most of the family returned to England on the Royal Edward, arriving at Avonmouth on 15 August 1912: James, bootmaker, 54 Louise, wife, 51 Harriet, domestic, 22 Lily, domestic, 18 Florence, child, 11 Nellie, child, 9 Alice, child, 8 As can be deduced from comparing the two lists, two of the family didn't return in August 1912: - Frederick John's name appears on the list of passengers arriving on 20 December 1912 at Liverpool from New York - he was a factory hand aged 20 and had been living in Canada. Frederick must have had itchy feet - he left England again on 17 April 1913 on the 'Benjalla' bound for Sydney, Australia.
