A memorial service for Edith Brabrook Minter, native Oak Parker and former long-time resident of the village, will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Minter died last Saturday in her home on Longboat Key, Sarasota, Fla. She moved to Sarasota in the fall.
She lived for many years in the 1500 block on Franklin Av., moving from there to Glen Ellyn, and then to Florida.
Mrs. Minter is survived by her husband, W. Scott; two daughters, Nancy (Robert E.) Klein of Kenilworth, and Mary (Thomas F.) Mcgrath Jr., of Old Greenwich, Conn.; two grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Mildred B. Cowles of Lincoln, Neb.
Memorials are suggested for the American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Minter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur L. Brabrook moved to a home on S. Lombard Av., in 1895. Her grandfather Brabrook was graduated form Oak Park High School in the early 1880s when it was housed in the old Bishop Quarter Academy at Lake St., and East Ave. Oak Park Oak Leaves April 8, 1970
