- In 1841, living with parents at Ickham. Issued with Seaman's Ticket No. 230497 at Ramsgate on the 21 March 1846. In 1854, buried at New Town Cemetery, Sydney, Australia.
George's death is recorded in the NSW BMD index under MINTO. Thanks to Colin Choat for finding this. Colin also found George's headstone in Camperdown Cemetery (or St Stephen Cemetery, Newtown, as it is sometimes called). The headstone is in a sorry state but Colin has transcribed the wording as:
"Eldest son of Daniel and Martha Minter. b. Ickham, Kent, England, 29 Apr 1828. Mortal remains. His life was terminated by being accidentally drowned in Sydney Harbour."
