  Notes	As a result of research by Geoff Knott, with a bit of help from John Minter, here's what is known about Betty: - her mother was Dorothy RIDER; the identity of her father isn't known. - she was born on 5 October 1919 and baptised on 28 December 1919 in Petersfield, Hampshire as Betty Minter RIDER , daughter of Dorothy RIDER of Swan Street, Petersfield - Betty appeared in the 1921 census at 24 Swan Street, Petersfield, Hants as Betty MINTER (daughter, 1y 10m, born Petersfield, Hants). She had been adopted by William Joseph and Emily MINTER - when the 1939 Register was prepared, Betty (as Betty (Minter) Rider, born 5 October 1919) was a patient in the Coldeast Mental Deficiency Colony, Sarisbury Green, Southampton, Hampshire (now Coldeast Hospital, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust). - Betty, as Betina, died in 1992. Geoff Knott believes that, when they started to run Coldeast down, Betty was moved to a home in Basingstoke. Her death was registered in there. - Betty's mother hasn't been found in the 1921 census, in fact neither her ancestry nor details of her life after Betty's baptism have been established. She may have been a doctor's daughter (see William Joseph Minter's Notes).
