  Notes	Winifred's birth was most probably that registered at Birmingham in Q4 1890 ref. 6d/1. The 1921 Census (not seen in detail) includes Winifred WHEWAY, born 1890, and John F WHEWAY, born 1917, living in Shenstone, Lichfield, Staffs. The 1939 Register, at Pine Grange, Bath Road, Flat C11, Bournemouth, Hampshire includes: MOLE, Roland T born 12 Jun 1868, married, retired sword & matchet maker MOLE, Rachael M born 8 Sep 1862, married, nil occupation MOLE*, later WHEWAY, then QUIGLEY, Winifred born 16 Oct 1890, divorced, domestic * the entry for Winifred isn't very clear - it looks as if the entry was originally for "ditto marks Winifred", then "WHEWAY CH BOU" was added; then WHEWAY was crossed through in green ink and "QUIGLEY" added, also in green ink. I can't find any record to suggest that Winifred SMITH ever became Winifred MOLE. So perhaps she never was a MOLE and the ditto marks were a mistake. I'm assuming that Winifred married Herbert Austin WHEWAY, later divorced him and then married Hugh QUIGLEY in 1973.
