"Ottavio Emilio Linati claimed to be a Borghese aristocrat, but was a fraudster, in fact the son of a glazier. Ultimately, at the age of 70, he was sentenced to 6 months for obtaining monies from two priests by deception, but had a history of begging letters and fraud."
"There are several newspaper reports entitled 'Peculiar Case of Alleged Fraud' or 'A Prince Charged with Fraud' etc. in the British Newspaper Archive in March and April 1885. There was also an item in Punch."

Also George H THRING (visitor, married, 31, solicitor, born Uppingham, Rutland) and Ida S THRING [nee LINATI] (visitor, married, 27, born France (British Subject) and Flora CLEMENTS (15, general servant, born Scotland).
1901 census: Eleanor was still with her son-in-law - at 13 Callow Street, Chelsea - Samuel JORDAN (head, 41, solicitor's clerk, born St John's Wood, London), Ceclia (sic) JORDAN (wife, 35, born Heidelberg, Germany (British Subject), Eleanor LINATI (mother-in-law, widow, 62, sub editress of weekly journal, born Mauritius and Pia LINATI (sister-in-law, 26, assistant cookery mistress, born South Kensington).
