Also a lodger Thomas PAPPS (32). 1861 census: in High Street, Hanwell, Middlesex (both BROWNE), John (head, married, 56, cordwainer, born Chiswick, Middlesex) and Hannah (wife, 56, born Burbage, Wiltshire). Also a grandson William SIMMONS (13, born Ealing, Middlesex, son of John Thomas's daughter Elizabeth Ann) and lodgers Matilda BINGLEY (35) and her daughter Emma (1). 1871 census: in High Street, Hanwell, Middlesex (both BROWNE), John Thomas (head, married, 67, cordwainer, born Chiswick, Middlesex) and Hannah (wife, 67, born Burbage, Wiltshire). Also lodgers Henry (24) and Helen M (22) DURBAN. Hannah's death was registered in Q1 1879; John married again later that year - see Emma POVEY's Notes re 1881 and 1891 census appearances.
