  Notes	July 2014. Thanks to a number of Public Member trees at ancestry, I've discovered that Mabel got married and had her two children in Chile. Her husband Robert Walter BAILEY, who like Mabel was born in Darlington, was a little older than Mabel and had evidently been backwards and forwards to South America a number of times before they married in 1904. Robert died in 1914 in Buenos Aires not long after arriving back from England and Mabel came back to England in 1915, bringing her son William Bernard with her*. It's not clear when the older son John Minter Bailey returned to England but he died in Brighton in 1983. * From UK incoming passenger lists 1878 - 1960, ancestry.com: Mabel Bailey, 37 and William Bernard Bailey, 5, boarded the 'Orita' in Valparaiso. The ship had left Callao, Peru and arrived in Liverpool on 15 September 1915. 1939 Register: at Flat 2 Montpelier Place, Brighton C.B., Sussex BAILEY, John M born 1 Oct 1904, married, corporate accountant BAILEY, Mabel born 17 Oct 1876, widow, private means. All dates and places used in describing Mabel's marriage and later life are taken from the trees owned by Caroline Ellis and Kathy Roche Gonot, who gave me permission to use the information in their trees.
