| Notes |
- 1850 United States Federal Census: in District 6, Carroll County, Tennessee (all BARHAM), Thomas (65, farming, born Virginia), Sarah (58, born North Carolina) and Sarah (20, born Tennessee).
Thomas is believed to have died in 1859.
1860 United States Federal Census: in District 1, Carroll County, Tennessee, Sarah BARHAM (69, farming, born North Carolina), was part of a large household headed by James H BARHAM, 43, born North Carolina, a wealthy farmer (real estate $8,000, personal estate $10,000).
Sarah appears to have been the owner of 6 slaves in 1860, ages ranging from 65 down to 16.
1870 United States Federal Census: in District 1, Carroll County, Tennessee, Sarah BARHAM (77, born North Carolina), was part of the household headed by Henry BARHAM, 52, born North Carolina, a farmer (real estate £10,000, personal estate $2,500). Henry was probably James H of 1860.
I haven't found Sarah's death, which must have occured after 1870 and probably before 1880 since I can't find her in the census for 1880.
Clifton Minter's tree includes only one child for Thomas and Sarah BARHAM, Cassandra, born in 1814. Clifton's tree includes the marriage of cassandra in 1837 to John Hicks LANIER, and some subsequent history. I have chosen not th include it here.
It seems obvious from the censuses listed above that Thomas and Sarah had other children but I haven't investigated this line.
