Obituary for Samuel J. Hart
Samuel J. Hart, 29, of Atlanta, GA, died unexpectedly on July 20, 2020. He was born January 16, 1991, in Snellville. Sam was the son of Richard and Kay (Minter) Hart. He attended South Gwinnett HS and graduated Georgia Southern University in 2014, with a degree in Business Management. He was employed at Document Pros, Atlanta, as the Production Manager. Working to expand his education in this area, he recently obtained his Legal Paralegal Associate Degree from the University of Georgia.
Sam was an avid soccer player and fan of the game, playing at the highest levels of youth soccer and as a team leader at South Gwinnett. He also enjoyed kayaking, softball, disc golf, working out, and other social sports.
In his last years, Sam dedicated himself to guiding men from a short-term solution to a lifelong sustainable recovery. He was always first to extend a hand of support to men seeking recovery. Sam’s work with MARR’s Alumni Group was commendable. He organized monthly dinners, many local events, and outings such as rafting the Oconee and kayaking the Chattahoochee. His leadership was a bridge for many men during their recovery. His caring and gentle spirit endeared him to anyone who knew him. His contributions and leadership will be felt for years to come.
Sam was a joy in the lives of all who knew him. He was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.
Sam is survived by his parents of Saint Simons Island; and his brother David, of Lawrenceville. He also leaves behind his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Minter of Richmond, VA; and many uncles, aunts, cousins, and numerous friends.
