Dorothy Minter, 91, formerly of Sulphur Springs, Texas, joined her beloved, Joe Bob in Heaven, on February 9, 2024. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Samuel Joseph Hart. She is survived by her children, David and Sherry Minter, John Minter, Kay and Richard Hart, sister-in-law, Barbara Shields; five grandchildren, Steve Minter, Paul Minter, Michael Minter, Johnny Minter, David Hart; eight great-grandchildren; and extended family and friends. Dorothy met her husband, Joseph Robert "Joe Bob" Minter, at East Texas State Teachers College/Texas A & M Commerce, where she received her bachelor's degree in education in 1953. She went on to receive her master's in education in 1972, from Mississippi University for Women. Dorothy served as a school teacher for 36 years, while wholly supporting her husband's distinguished career, and raising their three children. She was a member of the National Retired Teachers Association, Texas Retired Teachers Association, Pickton Book Club, Waverly Club, Red Hat Society, First United Methodist Church of Sulphur Springs, and Hopkins County Memorial Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary.
