He took and passed an exam for junior students set by Cambridge University. In the subjects of History, Geography and Latin. 1881 census: as just 'A E Minter', aged 18, born Washbrook, Suffolk, Albert was an apprentice chemist with Henry Lugar at 38 High Street, Notting Hill, London. In 1891 Albert, 27, was a chemist and druggist dispenser at the Royal Hampshire Hospital. 1901 census of Ireland.
