    Notes
    • October 2021: Mervyn Reeves emailed me as follows:
      "Can you please help me?
I had Elizabeth, the eldest daughter of Richard and Elizabeth, born in the autumn of 1766  at St Osyth, Essex, England.
She was christened at St Peter’s on the 16th November 1766.  The records spell her surname and those of her parents as Mintor.
I also had her married to Samuel Buttle.
But further research and also influenced by another researcher tempted me to think that this may be wrong.  I found an Elizabeth married to John Hoy on Christmas Day 1794.
What makes me think this may be the correct one is that the marriage ceremony took place at St Osyth, Essex.
Can I ask you to have a look and give me your opinion.  Your records are much larger than mine and your thoughts would be very much appreciated.
      Thank you"
I replied to the effect that I couldn't help, unfortunately.
