Nannie was the daughter of Lucinda Edwards (circa 1820-1895) of the Oak Level section of Henry County.

John and Nannie also had a daughter who died in infancy. She was Sarah Lou Thomasson, born Feb 20, 1874-died Oct 4, 1874 in Henry County. Her gravesite is unknown at present.

In her adult years, Nancy kept a black "medicine bag" that contained various herbs and plants used for healing the sick. Once she went to a neighbor's house during an ice storm to attend the sick. When she returned home there was 5 inches of ice on the ground. REAMEY WINN
