Mr. John Thomasson, an aged and respected citizen of this county, died at his home Saturday, at the age of eighty-five years. The funeral took place yesterday, and the interment was in the family burial ground at the home of his son-in-law, Mr. Gay Eggleston in that neighborhood.
He is survived by seven children: Mrs. Thomas Winn, Mrs. Gay Eggleston, Mrs. B. C. Hardy, Messrs. Reamey and Ben Thomasson of this county, Mrs. Laura Hundley of Spray, N. C. and Mrs. Jesse Leake of Price, N. C.
Mr. Thomasson was an old Confederate Veteran and highly esteemed by all who knew him.
