  Notes	Not found after 1871. Colin Stewart sent me an email as follows. It references an Ancestry Public Member Tree. I have looked at the tree and cannot verify any of the information in it. But it looks believable. " I have been looking at a few family trees on Ancestry.com and I found this. I did a quick search but couldn't find anything else to confirm a marriage. Arthur Downey born in 1868 must have emigrated to South Africa at some point and married Edith Emily Watson on 1 March 1899 in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, South Africa. Edith Emily Watson was born on 21 October 1874 in Durban, Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa. She died in 1952 in South Africa this came from the Transvaal Province, South Africa, Estate Death Notice Index 1855-1976 From what I can see from this family tree is that Arthur Downey died on 19 November 1952 in Germiston, Gautens, South Africa. They had a son Arthur George Downey who was born on 10 April 1900 in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Arthur George Downey married Doris Lift McDowell on 23 November 1926, Germiston, Gauteng, South Africa. Arthur George Colin died in 1967 in Germiston, Gauteng, South Africa. Doris Lift McDowell was born on 30 October 1905, Germiston, Gauteng, South Africa. Doris died on 7 September 1997 in Germiston, Gauteng, South Africa. They had a son Kenneth Frank Downey Downey. he was born on 23 November 1926 in Germiston, Gauteng, South Africa Kenneth died on 21 February 2000 in Germiston, Gauteng, South Africa.
