U.S., City Directories, 1822-1995 (ancestry.com): Galveston, Texas, City Directory, 1913 ENGELKE Adele Marce Miss, trained nurse, h. 1605 M. Adele married Grigsby MINTER in 1912. U.S., City Directories, 1822-1995 (ancestry.com): the following almost certainly refers to Adele, whose husband Grigsby died in 1920. Galveston, Texas, City Directory, 1926 MINTER Adele M (wid Brisby [sic]) nurse Dr Wm Gammon r 204 Melrose Apts The above City Directory entry of 1926 notwithstanding, it seems that Adele married twice in the 1920s: - as Mrs Adele Minter, on 25 February 1921 in Pulaski County, Arkansas, to Lee M MARSHALL, age 31 of Wood Lawn, Corrall County, Virginia. - as Mrs Adele M Minter, on 23 Feb 1928 in Harris County, Texas to Edgar J VELA. This marriage didn't last long since the 1930 Census includes Edgar as a divorced person (see his record for details). I can't find Adele in the 1930 or 1940 US Federal Censuses. But her death in 1966 as Adele Engelke MARSHALL is on findagrave.com.
