      1881 census: at Berry Moor, Petrockstow, Devon: Samuel Mills TROTT (head, 60, ag lab, born Merton, Devon), Jane TROTT (wife, 55, born Hatherleigh, Devon), Samuel TROTT (son, 12, scholar, born Petrockstow), Nora E TROTT (daughter, 9, scholar, born Petrockstow), Agustas TROTT (grandson, 8, scholar, born Petrockstow) and Emily DOWNEY (granddaughter, 2, born Holloway, London).

      1891 census: at 29 Wyatt Road, Highbury, London (all DOWNEY), Charles (32, coachman, born Sudbury, Suffolk), Emily (wife, 32, charing, born Maden, Devon) and Emily (daughter, 12, born Hornsey Rise, Middlesex).

      1901 census (indexed as Emely Downey): at 17 Arthur Road, Highbury, London (both DOWNEY), Emily (head, married, 46, mantle machinist, born Petrockstow, Devon) and Emily (daughter, 24, mantle machinist, born London).
      Charles not found.

      1911 census: neither Charles nor Emily found. Their deaths were possibly:
      Charles - aged 79, Q4 1937 Pancras 1b/114 (Colin Stewart agrees with this)
      Emily - aged 83, Q4 1941 Pancras 1b/93 (but Emily not found in the 1939 Register).
