| Notes |
- 30 June 2012: James Earley writes by email:
"I visited the Imperial War Museum today and found some information in relation to Arthur Henry Minter, who died on 17 October 1940. On the night of the 17 October 1940 Arthur was one of six people to die at Cottons Recreation Ground Shelter. A German Bomber released its bombs on the way home and one fell near the shelter that Arthur was in, there was no blast wall on the entrance of the shelter and therefore killed 6 individuals including Arthur. In 2009 six wooden sculptures were erected in the park as a memorial to the people who died.
At the time Arthur lived with his parents at 121 Marks Road."
Cottons Recreation Ground is now known as Cottons Park and comes within the London Borough of Havering. Photos of the six wooden sculptures can be found on the internet..
