  Notes	Found by Colin Stewart in National Newspaper archives: "Suffolk and Essex Free Press, Thursday July 26 1945 The Late Mrs Downey The death occurred on July 19th, at North Street, after a long illness, of Mrs Edith Maria Downey, wife of Mr Frederick Charles Downey. Mrs Downey second daughter of the late Alfred Layzell, was 54 years of age. The funeral took place on Monday at St Peter's Church. Canon Hughes officiated. The family mourners were :- Mr F.C Downey (husband), Mr Rupert Downey(son), Mr and Mrs E Layzell (brother and sister in law), Mrs F Scrivener (sister in law), and Mrs Allen (friend). There are two sons serving with the RAF in Burma. There were a number beautiful tributes and the funeral arrangements were carried out by Mr J J Brown, Acton Square."
