- November 2007: according to Pat Bartlam (and confirmed from other sources), Alexander Robert Minter died when the Black Prince was sunk with no survivors at the Battle of Jutland on 31 May 1916.
Panel 20 of the Portsmouth Naval Memorial lists Alexander as Ship's steward assistant, Royal Navy, age 23. (findagrave.com, July 2012).

Alexander was a WW1 casualty. He was a Ship's Steward Assistant aboard HMS Black Prince, service number M/11008. At the time he was killed his parents lived at 29 Galveston Road, Putney, London. He is remembered at the Portsmouth Naval memorial.
