  Notes	The following was found by James Earley in The Surrey Advertiser of Saturday July 6 1940: "Police Supt. H Minter of the Leatherhead --- Division, and Mrs Minter have been officially notified that their second son, -- Dennis Henry Minter, The Queen's Royal Regiment, who was with the B.E.F in France, is missing. He went into action on May 21st or 24th, and has not been heard of since. Supt. and Mrs Minter, who live at 83 Copthorne-road, Leatherhead, will be grateful to hear from any of their son's colleagues who may be able to give information about him. Before he was called up for service in January, Pte Minter, who is 20, was employed at the Hack--- Works, Hersham, as a draughtsman." Dennis appears in the 2004 and 2007 Electoral Rolls. October 2012: according to son Michael, Dennis is still alive and was an infantryman captured at Dunkirk. He remained a prisoner almost until the end of war and experienced the infamous long march from Poland. November 2018: Dennis's story is told in "Ghosts of Dunkirk" written by Patrick Gibbon and first published in 2014. Official documents show that Dennis was in Stalag 20B (in Marienburg, Danzig) and also Stalag 20A (Torun, Poland).
