But the name of the female spouse is given as Melicent Andrews. 1841 census: in Babergh Heath, Great Waldingfield, Suffolk, John (50, ag lab) and Amelia (60), both born in county. 1851 census: in Great Waldingfield, Suffolk, John (68, agricultural labourer) and Amelia (74). John's birthplace is given as Great Waldingfield. 1861 census: John, 73, widower, was lodging in Lavenham Road, Great Waldingfield. Birthplace now shown as Assington.
