  Notes	1841 census: with parents. 1851 census: in Great Horkesley (all BIBBY), Thomas (43, ag lab), Harriett (34, born Ardleigh, Essex), Ephraim (16, ag lab), Emma (4, scholar) and Sarah (10 months). The differences in Thomas's and Harriett's ages, and the gap between Ephraim and Emma, suggests Thomas may have been married twice. But a first marriage hasn't been found. The second marriage was probably with Harriet WENDEN (a William WENDEN lived with Thomas & Harriet in 1861). However, another possible explanation is, because both Harriet and Ephraim were born in Ardleigh, that Harriet was married to someone before marrying Thomas, or had Ephraim illegitimately. 1861 census: in cottage, Great Horkesley (all BIBBY), Thomas (52, ag lab), Harriet (42), Emma (14), Sarah (10), Thomas (8), Mary (5), Ellen (9 months) and William WENDEN (lodger, unmarried, 24, born Ardleigh). 1871 census: in Nayland Road, Great Horkesley (all BIBBY), Thomas (60, ag lab), Harriet (53), Sarah Ann (20, servant out of employ), Thomas (18, ag lab), Ellen (10, scholar) and William WENDEN (son-in-law, unmarried, 36, ag lab, born Ardleigh). 1881 census: at Old White House, Great Horkesley (both BIBBY), Thomas (73, agricultural labourer), Harriet (63) and a lodger Isaac HOSTICK (unmarried, 76, retired groom, born Ardleigh). 1891 census: at Old White House, Great Horkesley Harriet BIBBY (head, widow, 75).
