  Notes	The details given for James are somewhat speculative, the best guess based on the information available. It appears that James's first wife Sarah died in 1825, aged either 20 or 28 (the parish register is difficult to read) and that he married again, to Harriet. Details of the second marriage haven't been found but it appears form the enhanced BMD index that here surname was CHURCH (as was Sarah's). Perhaps they didn't marry - the registration of Harriet's death, which apparently occurred between 1841 and 1851, hasn't been found. 1841 census: in Great Horkesley (all BIBBY), James (40, ag lab), Harriet (30), Mary (18), Sarah (15), George (14), Charlotte (12), Eliza (8), Emily (6), William (5) and Philip (1). 1851 census (indexed as BIBBEY and recorded as such): in Mill Road, Mile End, Essex, Danniel CONSTABLE (head, married *, 35, farm lab, born West Bergholt), Mary CONSTABLE (29, born Great Horkesley, Essex), James BIBBEY (father in law, widower, 50, farm lab, born Great Horkesley, Essex), James's children - Charlotte BIBBEY (22, chair ---, born Great Horkesley, Essex), Eliza BIBBEY (20, tailoress, born Great Horkesley, Essex), Emily BIBBEY (18, silk winder, Great Horkesley, Essex), William BIBBEY (16, farm lab, born Great Horkesley, Essex), Phillip BIBBEY (14, farm lab, born Mile End, Essex), Esther BIBBEY (daughter in law, 8, born Great Horkesley, Essex) and Harvey BIBBEY (son in law, 4 months, born Mile End, Essex).
