    • A harness maker (per Belinda Ferguson, March 2008).

      One of the Public Member Trees at ancestry has James married to Matilda Catherine GARRARD (1794 - 1820) before he married Sarah Minter. I haven't verified this against other sources but it seems feasible given the list of children shown in James's 1841 census entry:
      1841 census: in Fore(?) Street, St Clement, Ipswich, Suffolk (all NORBROOK, all born in Suffolk), James (40, harness maker), Sarah (40), Sarah (17, dressmaker), James (14, painters apprentice), Thomas (14, harness maker), Martha (11), Susannah (10), Rebecca (7), Maria (3) and Charlotte MINTER [Sarah's aunt] (20).

      1851 census: in Salt House(?) Street, St Clement, Ipswich, Suffolk (all NORBROOK), James (head, 54, harness maker, born Wickham Market, Suffolk), Sarah (wife, 57, born Kesgrave, Suffolk), Thomas (24, printer (compositor), born Ipswich), Martha (22, berlin worsted worker, born Ipswich) and Maria E (12, scholar, born Ipswich).

      Both James (definitely) and Sarah (possibly) died in the 1850s. James's death registration has been found but not Sarah's. By the time of the 1861 census, daughters Martha and Maria were living together with a niece (see Martha's Notes).
