- Advertised from West Street Faversham of the auction of household furniture and a mare in foal in 1812.
Advertised the sale of furniture at Milton in 1818 and other sales in 1821.
At the baptisms of his children in 1816, 1817 and 1818 Thomas was a cabinet maker and in 1836, an auctioneer.

1841 census: in West Street, Faversham, Thomas (45, cabinet maker), Frances (45), Susannah (20), John (10) and George (5). Daughter Peggy may have been the Peggy Minter, aged 20, counted in Bridge Street, Wye, near Ashford, Kent (about 11 miles south of Faversham).

Appeared in the 1847 History, Gazeteer & Directory of the County of Kent (Bagshaw) as Thomas Minter, farmer, Chilham & Crundale.
A witness at Crundale on the 28 March 1849.
1851 census: at Ripple Farm, Crundale, Thomas (59, farmer of 80 acres employing 3 labourers and two boys), Frances (59, farmer's wife), Alice (20, farmer's daughter), Thomas (23, farmer's son) and George (18, farmer's son).
Appeared in the 1852 Home Counties Directory as T Minter, farmer, Crundale nr. Canterbury.
An entry in Kelly's Directory 1855 for Henry Minter, auctioneer, cabinet maker & upholsterer suggests Thomas may have continued to trade under his father's name. The same directory has entries for Mr T Minter, Sheldwich and T Minter Junr, Sheldwich.
1861 census: at Wells Forstall Grove House, Sheldwich, Kent, Thomas (69, gent), Francis (sic) (69), Alice (30) and George (28).
Thomas died in 1861. His Will was proved PCC 1861.

20 November 1861 Effects under £3000. The Will of Thomas Minter formerly of Faversham but late of Sheldwich both in the County of Kent Gentleman deceased who died 13 April 1861 at Sheldwich aforesaid was proved at Canterbury by the oaths of Henry Minter of Graveney in the said County Auctioneer and Farmer the Son and Richard Goodfellow Stone of Faversham aforesaid Timber Merchant two of the Executors.
1871 census: at Wells House, Sheldwich, Kent, Frances (widow, 79, annuitant) and Alice (40).
Tombstone in Sheldwich Churchyard reads:
