    Notes
    • Per Tinch Minter, whose younger sister found a slip of printed paper, Henry was born at 9.30 am.

1871 census (indexed as MINTA by ancestry.com): in Turnpike Road, Marlesford, Henry (32, innkeeper, Bell Inn), Elizabeth (28, innkeeper wife), Elizabeth (8, scholar), Clara (6, scholar), Harry (4, scholar) and a domestic servant, Maria Hurran, 14, born Hacheston, Suffolk.

1881 census: in Turnpike Road, Marlesford, Henry (43, innkeeper), Elizabeth (39, innkeeper wife), Elizabeth (18 innkeeper daughter), Annie (9, innkeeper daughter), Agnes (3, innkeeper daughter) and William (1, innkeeper daughter[!])

Kelly's Directory 1883 lists Henry Minter at The Bell, Marlesford, Wickham Market.

1891 census: Henry, innkeeper and seedsman, Elizabeth and daughter Annie (19) living in Main Road, Marlesford.

1901 census: Elizabeth, now widowed, living in Marlesford (address unknown) with daughters Annie (29) and Agnes (24), a grandaughter May HOWELL (8) and Annies' future husband Charles HALL (32), a tailor on his own account. May HOWELL's parents were Clara and Joseph Howell.

Some of the children listed died in infancy and do not therefore appear in censuses but it seems highly likely that they all belonged to Henry and Elizabeth.

The pub which Henry (and his mother before him) kept was the Bell. According to http://www.suffolkcamra.co.uk/pubs/pub/710 it closed in 2003. Presumably Turnpike Road became Main Road.

England & Wales, National Probate Calendar (Index of Wills and Administrations),1861-1941 (at Ancestry.co.uk, Nov 2010):
