Ash Family Reconstitution Forms supplied by Cally Schneider in December 2012 indicate that William bought the Malthouse, 11 Ash Street, Ash in 1783 for £115. I haven't verified this.
Living in a cottage at Ash Street advertised for auction in 1791.
Volunteered to serve on foot with pike in 1795 (1798 according to the Ash Family Reconstitution Forms supplied by Cally Schneider in December 2012), in the event of an invasion as of Ash Street with the Ash volunteers.
Advertised his support of the Canterbury and Union Bank in 1797.
Owner of house and land at Chartham in 1790 with tax paid, 1780- 1830.
Ash Family Reconstitution Forms supplied by Cally Schneider in December 2012 indicate that William paid rates in Ash as follows: 1810, £269; 1805, £273; 1800, £273; 1795, £280; 1740, £50; 1785, £50; 1780, £50. [These figures look suspect. For example, £269 in today's money equates to over £9,000.
