    Notes 
    • Had two properties at Staple and share of house, with barns, stables, and outbuildings and land at Ash in 1761.
      Advertised the sale of two houses in the Old Fish Market, Sandwich in 1770:
      Kentish Gazette 1770 Sat. 6th Jan. to Tues. 9th Jan. also Tues. 9th Jan.to Sat. 13th Jan. and Sat.13th Jan. to Tues.16th Jan.
      "To be sold - All those two freehold
      tenements or dwelling houses adjoining together in the
      Old Fish Market in Sandwich, late in the occupation of
      Stephen Scott and John Silver. They are exceedingly
      well situated for business. For particulars enquire of
      Mr. Henry Minter of Ash or Edward Mairne, Attorney at Law
      of Sandwich."

      Tenant or occupier of barn, oasthouse, yard and close and seven pieces of arable or pasture land of 57 acres at Ash in 1774, the subject of a fourteen year lease commenced in 1766. Advertised for sale in the Kentish Gazette Wed 20th to Sat 23rd July 1774:
      "To be sold by Auction - Lot 2. All
      that barn, oasthouse, yard and close thereto belonging
      together with seven pieces of arable and pasture land
      containing by estimation fifty seven acres (more or less)
      situate lying and being in the parish of Ash next
      Sandwich and now in the tenure or occupation of Henry
      Minter at the yearly rent of 60L subject to a lease of
      fourteen years granted from Michaelmas 1766 ........
      the tenant will show the premises at Ash."

      A witness at Ash on the 26 November 1772, 3 July 1774, 1 August 1776, 9 December 1783, 28 November 1786, and on the 27 February 1787.

      Churchwarden at Ash between 1774 and 1776 - signed the Parish Annual Return in 1775 and 1776.

      According to the Ash Family Reconstitution Forms supplied by Cally Schneider in December 2012, paid rates: £348; 1790, 2s.; 1780, £3. I haven't verified this.

      Buried as of Weddington, aged 48.

      Will dated 20 December 1782, proved on 1 Dec 1789 at Canterbury Consistory Court befor Rev G Hearne, by oth of Ann Minter. Recorded in Canterbury Consistory Court Act Book 66 No. 474 (PRC 22/27 1773 - 1802) - noted by Cliff Minter February 2007. Will seen by Sidney Kirkham Minter at Maidstone of 28 June 1954. He made the following notes.
      Will of Henry Minter of Ash near Sandwich, Yeoman.
      Testator bequeathes all his messuages or tenements, land, heraditaments and real estate to his wife, Ann Minter, her heirs, executors, administrators and assigns.
      She is also appointed sole executrix.
      Witnesses: Mary Philpott, T Wood, W Philpott.

      Henry Minter died - August 17-9 age 48
      ---------------- Ann Minter late of Sandwich
      died 8 January 1811 age 76.
