      George W. Minter, 98, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016, in Farmington. He was born in Houston, on Oct. 17, 1917, to Jessie and Lily Minter. George worked for the U.S. Air Force and the Federal Aviation Administration for 35 years, the last 24 years at the station in Farmington. He retired in 1977 and enjoyed skiing, traveling and later in life, golf. George was a member of the Farmington Elks Lodge 1747 for 60 years. He also served on the board of the Farmington Community Concert Association for 20 years. George was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 42 years, Mazell Minter; his daughter, Janet Milburn; sisters, Evelyn Morrow and husband Don, Jessie Kivel and his longtime friend, Allis Evans.
      At George's request cremation has taken place with no services to be held. George's care is entrusted to Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St. in Farmington, 505-325-8688. Those who wish to express their condolences may do so at serenityandcompany.com.
