  Notes	Copied from The Madill Record of 28 July 2021: Joseph (Joe or “Jodie”) Oliver Minter, V 67, of Madill, Okla. passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021, at the St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, Okla. He was born on January 30, 1954, in Norman, Okla. to Joseph Oliver Minter, IV and Oteka Nell LeFlore Minter Beasley. Joe was raised in Madill and graduated from Madill High School in 1972. He received a bachelor’s degree from UCO and graduated from OU in 1985. Joe was very active in his community, serving on the Madill City Council from April 1998 to April 2007, Mayor of Madill from April 2000 to April 2003 and from April 2004 to October 2004. He also served as City Judge for both Madill and Kingston. Joe was a member of the Oklahoma Indigent Defense System (ODIS) and a local attorney always willing to help those in need, even those that could not pay. He was the ISS and U.S. Government teacher at Madill High School and was the facilitator at Cross Point Camp with the ropes course and archery. Joe married Vicky Mahaney on June 19, 2021, at Cross Point Camp, Kingston, Okla. He was a beloved son, father, brother, uncle, papa, husband and Papa Bear to many, and he loved hunting and fishing with family and friends. His greatest accomplishment was his sobriety date of December 15, 2009 and he loved sharing and encouraging others on their journey. He is survived by his wife, Vicky Minter, mother, Oteka Nell LeFlore Minter Beasley. sister, Ann Chapman and husband Willis. brother, Lt. Col. Michael Minter and wife Jennifer, children; Andrea Griffin-Talavera and partner Laura, Sara Walston and husband Ruben, Georgia Minter and partner Kyle, grandchildren; Dylan Parnacher, David Montoya, Jr., Kross McCallister, and Kruz McCallister, nieces and nephews; Christi Holder and husband Al, Katy Smith and husband Mike, Richard Minter and wife Robyn, Elizabeth Minter, and Alexandra Beaver and husband, Daniel. Joe was preceded in death by his father Joseph Oliver Minter, IV. Memorial may be made to the HOPE for Marshall County, 19123 Elizabeth Blvd, Madill, Oklahoma or the Cross Point Camp, 7310 Rock Creek Rd, Kingston, OKkla. 73439 Funeral Service were held Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at the Watts Memorial Chapel in Madill, Okla.
