  Notes	Samuel was privately baptised on the day he was born. The two baptisms which took place on 21 May 1837 at Butley cum Capel, Suffolk of John Minter and Matthew Minter are assumed to be the baptisms of Samuel's sons, although the parents are shown (at the England & Wales, Christening Index, 1530-1980 at ancestry.com) as Samual and Fanny Minter. 1841 census: in Tunstall, Suffolk, Saml (30, miller), Ann (25), Jno (12) and Matthew (9). 1851 census: in Chattisham, Suffolk, Samuel (45, millers carter, born Boyton), Ann (40, born Chillesford) and Matthew (20, millers man, born Butley). Samuel's first wife died after the 1851 census and before 4 November 1858 but a death registration hasn't been found. 1861 census: in Chattisham, Suffolk, Samuel (54, flour dealer, born Boyton), Elizabeth (57, born Eyke) and Sarah COOK (wife's daughter, 16, dressmaker, born Woodbridge).
