  Notes	A search of the Thorpe-le-Soken Parish Registers suggests that John (or his father) came to Thorpe from elsewhere: his is the first Minter marriage to be recorded in Thorpe and his son John's is the first baptism recorded in Thorpe. We know John's father's name only because it is recorded in the PR entry for John's second marriage in 1838. 1841 census: in Thorp Green, Thorpe-le-Soken, John (65, ag lab) and Mary (55). John and Mary may have had another daughter, Mary (although an entry for her wasn't found in the Thorpe-le-Soken Parish Registers). In 1841, a Mary Minter, 25, was living with William and Elizabeth TYLER in Thorpe Street: Elizabeth could have been Mary's sister. 1851 census: in Thorpe-le-Soken, John (76, coal carrier) and Mary (66) and grandson John (7) (John's son). Plus a male servant, William Buckle (14).
