Notes	NB. There is no positive evidence that Thomas was the son of Robert and Sarah. 1841 census: in Burnt Heath, Ardleigh, Essex, Thomas (45, ag lab, not born in Essex), Sarah (45, not born in Essex), Elizabeth (14), Rebecca (12), Eleanor (10) and William (5). All the children were born in Essex. 1851 census: at Prince's corner, Ardleigh, Essex, Thomas (57, ag lab, born Assington, Suffolk), Sarah (60, school mistress, born Kersey, Suffolk) and Elizabeth A (granddaughter, 1, born Ardleigh), the illegitimate daughter of Thomas's daughter Elizabeth. Elizabeth herself hasn't been found in 1851. Rebecca may have been the 21 year-old housemaid at 65 Priory Street, St Botolph Colchester. No trace of her has been found subsequent to that. 1861 census: Thomas died in 1858 and was buried in Ardleigh, aged 63. His widow Sarah, 66, a help at a day school, was living with her daughter, now Elizabeth WARNER, in Ardleigh. 1871 census: Sarah, 78, was lodging in Great Bromley, Essex. She died before the next census.
