A brewer's labourer of Marshborough, Woodnesborough in 1865 and of Ash in 1874. 1871 census: at New St, Ash, Daniel (28, brewer's labour), Hannah (27 domestic servant), Elizabeth (3) and Emily (1). Daughter Mary Ann (6) was staying 2 doors away at Ash Brewery. 1881 census: at New St, Ash, Daniel (48, widower, brewer's cellarman), Mary Ann (16, housekeeper), Elizabeth H (13), Emily (11, scholar), William (9, scholar), Ruth (7, scholar) and John (4, scholar). From Cliff Minter: tombstone at Ash next Sandwich reads: Hannah Minter who died 17 Janyary 1881 age 36 also Daniel who died 24 September 1890 age 58.
