1901 census: at 190 East Street, St Peters Southwark, London, James W (73, lath render), Rebecca (69), Eleanor (40, ---- machining) and Geo Will (36,
clerk).
Both James and Rebecca died before the 1911 census. Peter Smith (see below) writes, in August 2013:
"James and Rebecca were still living at 190 East Street.
Sadly James died at home of bronchitis on 28«sup»th«/sup» March 1904 aged 76.
Even more sadly Rebecca died only eight days later on 4«sup»th«/sup» April 1904 aged 73. She also died of bronchitis.
This must have been a very difficult time for their children with both parents dying within a few days of each other. Frederick (my Grandfather) was a Coastguard stationed in Devon at that time and obtained special leave to return home to help with the arrangements and registered his mother Rebecca's death on 5«sup»th«/sup» April 1904.
Census - of Eleanor and George, who were both living at home with their parents when they died, little is known.
Eleanor is untraceable and George was now shown living with his other sister Amelia at 38 Carlisle Street, Lambeth. His age is shown as 46 and his occupation is Clerk in a perfume manufactory."
