1920 US census: Walter (49) and Margaret (47) living in Manistee, Michigan. With them was a cousin, Albert WILLIAMS, 45, born Michigan.
1930 US census: in Cleon, Manistee, Michigan, Walter (head, 58, married when 29, born England, farming) and Margaret (wife, 54, married when 25, born England).
1940 US census (indexed as MINTEN by Ancestry): in Cleon, Manistee, Michigan, Walter (head, 69, born England, farmer, own farm) and Margaret (wife, 66, born England).

They gave their address in England as 3 Ravenscourt Gardens, Hammersmith, London, the country of last permanent residence as USA and indicated that they were on a visit.
Ancestry.com New York Passenger Lists 1820 - 1957 has Walter 52, farmer) and Margaret (48) arriving at New York on 13 March 1923 on the 'Baltic'. They gave their address in England as Sister, Mrs H Burn, 3 Ravenscourt Gardens, Hammersmith, London. Their destination was Copemish, Michigan.

- Walter married in Q3 1855, Kensington 1a/64, to Louisa MERRICK. Louisa was almost certainly the sister of Eliza MERRICK who married Walter's brother Richard in 1869.
In 1851 in King Street, Hammersmith were living James ANKINS (47, furniture broker, born Islington), his wife Eliza ANKINS (30, born Chiswick) and Eliza's unmarried sister Louisa MERRICK (23, shop servant). James ANKINS and Eliza MERRICK had married in Q1 1850 (St Martins 1/110). A few years later, in 1855, Louisa MERRICK married Walter Minter.
James ANKINS died in Q2 1864 (Kensington 1a/101): his widow Eliza married Richard Minter in 1869.
