| Notes |
- 1891 census: Percy, age stated as 13, was an inmate at the Philanthropic Society's Farm School at Reigate, Surrey. He was baptised there on 9 March 1890 along with 26 other boys. Nothing beyond the boys' names and their school house was recorded - Percy was in Waterlands House. In every case, the ceremony was performed by the warden, the Reverend Canon M G Vine.
The Philanthropic Society's Farm School was officially a reformatory. An index of admissions (downloadable from https://www.surreycc.gov.uk) shows that Percy was admitted on 23 February 1889. His birth date is shown as 29 May 1875. I haven't discovered why Percy was at the School.
1901 census: not found.
1907: living in Albert Street, Ramsgate, a fisherman.
1909: living at 6 Alexander Terrace, Seafield Road, St Lawrence, Thanet, a mariner.
1911 census (1): Percy was the master of the 'Alessie', a fishing boat, counted at St Columb, Cornwall. He was 35, married 6 years with 2 living children. Also aboard were a mate and two hands.
