  Notes	October 2011: Suzanne Cousens, one of Arthur's granddaughters, has provided information about her family. Arthur, like his brothers, went to Australia. He married there and served in WW1 in the Australian Imperial Force: he was a member of the February 1917 Reinforcements, Imperial Camel Force (source: www.aif.adfu.edu.au). Records relating to Arthur's WW1 service can be found at the National Archives of Australia. Suzanne Cousens has confirmed that Arthur went to Canada before Australia: A J Minter aged 19, labourer, left Liverpool for Halifax, Canada on 3 April 1906 on the 'Laurentian'. He then sailed for Sydney on the 'Ortova' in 1908. www.awm.gov.au shows that Arthur then aged 30, a milk carter, a Presbyterian, embarked on the RMS Morea at Sydey on 17 February 1917. Next of kin shown as Mrs Bertha Ellen Minter, 4 Park Avenue, Neutral Bay, NSW. He'd joined the forces on 11 January 1917. The NSW archives contain divorce papers for Arthur James Minter and Bertha Eileen Minter dating from 6 Aug 1926 - 10 Feb 1927. It's unclear what this means since Arthur and Bertha appeared together in censuses from 1937 on.
