  Notes	1901 census: aged 18, a grocer's van-man in Wingham Street, Wingham. 1911 census: see father's Notes. Listed in Kellys Directory of the Isle of Thanet 1914 - 15, 1915 - 16 and 1920 as Ernest Minter, Edgar House, Prospect Road, Minster, Kent. Worked as a baker's roundsman at Wingham. Joined the Metropolitan Police and lived at Brentford but suffered injury after only a few year's service and was discharged after a time in hospital. Later worked for Charles Kennett at Eden Hall Farm, Minster and drove a horse and waggon to deliver market garden produce, sometimes to Ramsgate. Worked for Jezzard the baker at Minster after getting married and drove a Ford van. Purchased Edgar House in Prospect Road, Minster in which to live. Later employed for a Council until in 1925 he took Stour Farm at Chartham where he lived with his family and where he farmed until about 1950 when he moved with his wife to Guildford Road, Canterbury and where they both lived throughout their retirement. 1921 census: in Prospect Road, Minster, Kent (all MINTER), Ernest Arthur (head, 38y 11m, married, born Littlebourne, Kent, roadman, general labourer with Kent Couny Council), Amy Gertrude (wife, 30y 2m, married, born Minster, Kent, home duties), Ernest Charles (son, 5y 1m, born Minster, Kent, whole time school) and Victor Stephen (son, 1y 10m born Minster, Kent). 1939 Register: at Stour Farm House, Chartham, Bridge-Blean R.D., Kent Minter, Ernest A born 10 Jul 1882, married, dairy farmer Minter, Amy G born 28 Mar 1891, married, unpaid domestic duties --- 1 closed record ---
