    • Scholar at Kings School, Canterbury. The Register for 1859 - 1931 reported:
      Michaelmas 1910
Minter, Edward Arthur. Son of Ernest Dearman Minter, Naval Surgeon, deceased: born 5 January 1896: Gym Pair 1913, 1914. 1 July 1914. Midshipman R.N. 1915: Sub Lieut. 1917: Acting Lieut. 1918. At Cambridge for course 1919. Lieut. Cdr. retd. Last known address: Electrical Dep., Great Western Railway of Buenos Aires Ltd, Buenos Aires.

Ancestry.com.au - UK Incoming Passenger Lists, 1878-1960 has the following:
      1. 25 July 1926: Edward Arthur Minter, 30, elec. engineer, arrived at London from La Plata, Argentina on the 'Highland Rover'. Address: B.A.Westn Rly, River Place Hse, E.C.
      2. 9 October 1931: Edward A Minter, 35, railway employee, and Margaret Minter, 22, arrived at London from Buenos Aires on the 'Rodney Star'. Address: c/o Buenos Aires Western Railway, Finsbury Circus.

The inclusion of two children as Edward and Margaret's is speculative (birth certificates would confirm or otherwise). As can be seen from the above shipping record, the couple returned to England in October 1931 and the first presumed child, John, was born in Q4 that year. The second child, Sebastian, was born in 1940. In both cases, mother's maiden name is shown as Kretzer, the only known instance of this name. Sebastian almost certainly died in the UK in 1998.

      1939 Register - see brother John's Notes.

The Commonwealth War Graves website has the death on 14 January 1942 of Lieut-Commander Edward Arthur Minter, aged 46, Royal Navy, HMS Drake. Cemetery: Plympton St Mary Churchyard. He apparently died from illness. Edward's gravestone records him as Lieutenant Commander E A Minter RN HMS Drake 14 January 1942.
