      "a Thomas Ellison [was a witness at] the marriage of William Ellison and Ann Starkey [in 1805]. I believe this [was this Thomas]".

      "I believe Thomas became a shoemaker and his family included a daughter Lydia, born about 1819 - this Lydia remained unmarried and live on Shambles Street, Barnsley until her death in 1893 - holding a variety of jobs including House-keeper and Confectioner."

      Banns of matrimony between John Ellison & Lydia Wadsworth both of ye chaplery were publish'd ye 20th & 27th of March, ye 3rd of Apr in our chapel without impediment by Jno. Mence [the Minister].
      The said John Ellison of the chapelry of Barnsley (labourer) and the said Lydia Wadsworth of the chapelry aforesaid (spinster) were married in this chaple by banns this fourteenth day of April 1774. Both signed as did the witnesses Henry Darby and John Bamforth.
