- John Ducrow was a clown on Astley's Theatre. There is much about him on the web. He died in 1834 and the Gentleman's Magazine, Volume 156, July 1834, page 108 (Deaths) carried the following:
Lately Of consumption, Mr John Ducrow, clown of Astley's theatre, and brother of Mr Ducrow, the celebrated equestrian. His body was conveyed to the burial ground of old Lambeth Church in a plumed hearse, drawn by four horses, and preceded by his two favourite ponies. Six mourning coaches followed.
John was 38 of Bridge Road, Lambeth when he was buried.
