Former residents of Melbourne in Dr. Torrance and his wife died at Kilkenny. Ireland-Mrs. Torrance on August 17, and Dr. Torrance two days * later. Dr. Torrance, who was a doctor of music at the Melbourne University, arrived in Victoria in 1869, and became curate at South Yarra, and subsequently at St. John's, Latrobe-street. He opened Trinity College as a boarding house for students at the University, and was its head until Dr. Leeper's appointment as warden. He married a daughter of Mr. S. B. Vaughan, solicitor, of Melbourne. For the past nine years Dr. and Mrs. Torrance resided at Kilkenny.
