October 2012: Gill Cox has sent a newspaper cutting found in her late mother-in-law's photo collection. It reads:
"ROLL OF HONOUR
YOUNG RAMSGATONIAN KILLED
IN THE ROYAL SCOTS FUSILIERS
News has been received of the death of another Ramsgatonian - Private William Minter, of the Royal Scots Fusiliers, who returned from Africa and Gibraltar about two months ago.
He was then ordered with his regiment to the Front, and his many friends will regret to learn that news was received yesterday from the War Office that he has been killed in action.
When he returned home he had only twenty-four hours leave, after five years service, to see his people before going to the Front.
He was only twenty-three years of age.
Minter's parents reside at Minster."
The cutting carries a photo of William.
Henry's photo appeared on the front cover of, and inside, the issue The War Cry published on Saturday 10 November 2012.
